Patio Construction
The word patios, meaning a paved outdoor area adjoining a house, derives from an early 19th. Century Spanish word denoting an inner courtyard.
A patio is really an extension of your living space and, as such, demands your close attention. It should reflect the style of your home and your own personal tastes.
Patios can be rustic or contemporary, and come in a variety of colours and styles. They can be enhanced by steps leading from the house, water features, bird baths, sundials or ornamental pieces such as statues.
When fitting your patio they require a solid sub base to give the highest quality finish. The finish may also vary – consider using different size slabs / colours to produce an individual effect. The possibilities are endless.
Paving sealers can be applied to waterproof and protect the patio surface making it resistant to colour loss, due to ultraviolet light, and reduce algae and lichen growth.
Once treated with paving sealer will be almost maintenance-free.
